Basketball Game Preview: Gadsden City Titans vs. Hartselle Tigers

The Gadsden City Titans are taking a road trip to challenge the Hartselle Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Gadsden City has eight straight wins, Hartselle has ten straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Last Friday, Gadsden City got the win against Southside by a conclusive 61-40. Given the Titans' advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 37th, while the Panthers are ranked 167th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Hartselle was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 50-46 to Muscle Shoals.

Gadsden City pushed their record up to 17-10 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.7 points per game. As for Hartselle, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-16.

Gadsden City beat Hartselle 58-51 in their previous meeting back in December of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Gadsden City since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
