Basketball Recap: Christian Ministries Academy Comes Up Short

Christian Ministries Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single point away from ending the streak, but they lost a 52-51 heartbreaker at the hands of the Valley Christian River Hawks. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since November 16, 2023, but that streak is no more.

When it comes to explaining why Christian Ministries Academy lost, don't look at Austin Hicks. Despite the final result, he shot 50% from the field en route to 28 points along with eight boards and three steals. That was a full 54.9% of the Conquerors' points, marking the third time in a row Hicks has posted more than a third of the team's points. Andrew Robertson was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with nine points and 14 rebounds.

Christian Ministries Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Valley Christian, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Christian Ministries Academy will head out to challenge Varsity Opponent at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Valley Christian, they will challenge Scranton at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
