Baseball Recap: Linn Comes Up Short

The matchup between Linn and Eugene on Friday hardly resembled the 2-0 effort from their previous meeting. The Wildcats came up short against the Eagles, falling 19-9. The Wildcats haven't had much luck with the Eagles recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Linn saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jaxon Kubiak, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, six RBI, and two runs. Kubiak has become a key player for the Wildcats: the team is 4-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 8-16 otherwise. Hunter Bish was another, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs.

Linn's loss dropped their record down to 12-17. As for Eugene, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 22-8.

As of now, neither Linn nor the Eagles have any future games scheduled.
