Basketball Preview: La Porte Bulldogs vs. Ball Tornadoes

La Porte is 7-2 against the Tornadoes since December of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The La Porte Bulldogs will head out on the road to face off against the Ball Tornadoes at 6:00 p.m. Hopefully La Porte is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Tornadoes in Texas (the Bulldogs are ranked 351st, while the Tornadoes are ranked 777th).

After a string of five wins, La Porte's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell just short of Manvel by a score of 40-38.

Meanwhile, Ball came up short against the Mavericks on Friday and fell 51-42. Ball has struggled against the Mavericks recently, as their contest on Friday was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.

Despite the defeat, Ball had strong showings from Kalyn Toussaint, who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds and two steals, and Braeon Arceneaux, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Arceneaux is crushing the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season.

La Porte's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 21-11. As for Ball, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-15 record this season.

La Porte strolled past the Tornadoes in their previous matchup back in January by a score of 61-42. The rematch might be a little tougher for La Porte since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
