Recap: Clovis Wildcats vs. Hobbs Eagles

The Clovis Wildcats and the Hobbs Eagles squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but sadly the Clovis Wildcats had to settle for second. Clovis was outmatched by Hobbs on the road and fell 50-13. Clovis' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

When it comes to explaining why Clovis lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jett Stone. Despite the final result, he rushed for 126 yards and a touchdown on only 15 carries. Stone hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for four straight games.

It was another big night for Saul Armendariz, who rushed for 168 yards and three touchdowns on only ten carries. Jeremiah Jaquez did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 111 receiving yards and a touchdown.

Clovis now has a losing record at 5-6. As for Hobbs, they have yet to lose a contest at home this season, leaving them with a 6-5 record.

Clovis does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Hobbs will head out on the road to face off against Cleveland at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Cleveland is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
