Baseball Recap: Geneseo Comes Up Short

Geneseo fell victim to High Point Christian Academy and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cougars. That's two games in a row now that the Blue Devils have lost by exactly three runs.

Geneseo saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cooper Warner, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base.

This is the second loss in a row for Geneseo and nudges their season record down to 2-2. As for High Point Christian Academy, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 17-5.

Looking ahead, Geneseo is packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will square off against Keshequa at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for High Point Christian Academy, they will challenge Greensboro Day School at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Cougars 3, the Bengals 4) so any runs scored will be well earned.
