After a string of four wins, Calvary Chapel Academy's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They fell just short of the Melbourne Central Catholic Hustlers by a score of 3-2. If the Eagles were looking for revenge after losing 3-1 to the Hustlers when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Calvary Chapel Academy actually scored more points across those five sets (101-98), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The final score came out to 11-25, 25-22, 25-21, 22-25, 15-8.

Calvary Chapel Academy's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Addison Sedaros, who had 50 assists and 15 digs. Sedaros is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 15 or more in each of the last five games she's played. Julianne Jackson also deserves some recognition as she had her first kill of the season.

Calvary Chapel Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 11-5. As for Melbourne Central Catholic, their victory ended a three-match drought on the road and puts them at 5-15.

Calvary Chapel Academy has already played their next contest, a 3-2 loss against City of Life Christian Academy on the 30th. As for Melbourne Central Catholic, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-0 defeat against Merritt Island Christian on the 30th.
