Football Game Preview: Brookfield Bobcats vs. Guilford Grizzlies + How To Watch

Two dominant backs in Tyler Buttendorf and Aiden Ruotolo are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Brookfield Bobcats will challenge the Guilford Grizzlies at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Brookfield will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

It was a proper cat-fight when Brookfield duked it out with Bethel on Wednesday. The Bobcats breezed past the Wildcats to the tune of 46-7. The result was nothing new for the Bobcats, who have now won eight contests by 27 points or more so far this season.

Matt Ackerly was his usual excellent self, rushing for 66 yards and one touchdown on only nine carries, while also catching a pair of scores.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Brookfield was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 365 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in November of 2024.

Another reason for the win was Brookfield's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for 3.5 sacks. Leading the way was Thad Balzi with two. Another thorn in Bethel's side was Chase Sylvia, who made ten total tackles (2.0 for loss) and snagged an interception.

Meanwhile, Guilford faced Hand in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Grizzlies were outmatched by the Tigers and fell 41-3. The Grizzlies' defeat signaled the end of their seven-game winning streak.

Brookfield's record is now 8-2. As for Guilford, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 8-2.

Brookfield took a serious blow against Guilford in their previous matchup back in October of 2021, falling 45-6. Thankfully for the Bobcats, Nico Messina (who threw for 227 yards and three TDs on only 17 passes) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
