Basketball Recap: Raine Upchurch Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Amistad

There's no place like home for Wilby, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They managed a 48-42 victory over the Amistad Wolves on Monday.

Wilby's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Raine Upchurch, who posted 25 points and four steals. That makes it 12 consecutive games in which Upchurch has scored at least a third of Wilby's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Joi Jackson, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten boards.

Wilby smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 25 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

Wilby's win bumped their record up to 9-5. As for Amistad, they dropped their record down to 1-6 with the loss, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Wilby wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 46-41 defeat against Naugatuck on the 28th.
