Basketball Recap: Lucas Cummings and Rowen Haynes Secure Win for Aurora Christian Academy

Aurora Christian Academy lost to Gloria Deo Academy back in February of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Monday. The Aurora Christian Academy Arrows walked away with a 39-32 win over Gloria Deo Academy.

Aurora Christian Academy was led to victory by Rowen Haynes and Lucas Cummings. Haynes went 12 for 27 on his way to 25 points along with five boards and five steals, while Cummings posted seven points in addition to 17 rebounds and four blocks. The dominant performance gave Haynes a new career-high in steals.

Aurora Christian Academy is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.0 points per game. As for Gloria Deo Academy, they now have a losing record at 1-2.

Aurora Christian Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 62-28 victory against Calvary Christian on the 14th. As for Gloria Deo Academy, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Jefferson Independent Day at 7:00 p.m. on January 31st.
