Recap: Alexandria City Titans vs. Fairfax Lions
The Alexandria City Titans won the last time they faced the Fairfax Lions, and things went their way on Thursday too. Alexandria City came out on top against Fairfax by a score of 51-43. Given Alexandria City's advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 19th, while Fairfax is ranked 66th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Kye Robinson was his usual excellent self, scoring 26 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Robinson is absolutely dominating the point category: he's posted at least 15 every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Darius Bivins, who scored 12 points along with five assists and five steals.
Alexandria City pushed their record up to 11-3 with that victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Fairfax, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Alexandria City will take on West Springfield at 5:45 p.m. on Monday. As for Fairfax, they will head out on the road to take on Lake Braddock at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Lake Braddock is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak.
