Basketball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for T.C. Roberson

If North Buncombe wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played T.C. Roberson, they should've done a better job of containing Dean Lowe. The T.C. Roberson Rams came out on top in a nail-biter against the North Buncombe Black Hawks on Wednesday, sneaking past 57-55 thanks in part to Lowe, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 11 rebounds. The matchup was his sixth in a row with at least ten points.

North Buncombe's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Matthew Ledford, who went 7 for 14 en route to 17 points and five assists. Ledford is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games he's played. Trent Clark was another key player, going 7 of 16 on his way to 17 points.

The win (which was T.C. Roberson's fourth in a row) raised their record to 8-8. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.5 points per game. As for North Buncombe, their loss dropped their record down to 8-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. T.C. Roberson will venture away from home to challenge A.C. Reynolds at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in A.C. Reynolds' favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 11 contests. As for North Buncombe, they are taking a road trip to square off against Asheville at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. North Buncombe is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 71.1 points per game this season.
