Baseball Recap: Spackenkill Has No Trouble Against Rhinebeck

Spackenkill's game on Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Rhinebeck Hawks as they made off with a 16-2 victory. The Spartans have beaten the Hawks the last seven times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Hawks has come to flipping the script.

The team relied heavily on Dylan Boenig, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Albie Hasbrouck, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.

Spackenkill hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Rhinebeck struck out ten times.

Spackenkill's win bumped their record up to 3-6. As for Rhinebeck, their defeat was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Spackenkill will challenge New Paltz at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Rhinebeck, they will face off against Ellenville at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. The Hawks are facing the Blue Devils at the right time seeing as the Blue Devils are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
