It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Mary Star of the Sea had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Channel Islands Raiders 7-6. That's two games straight that the Stars have won by just one run.

The win was the fifth in a row for Mary Star of the Sea, bringing their record up to 16-12. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.2 runs over those games. As for Channel Islands, they moved to 15-14 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Looking ahead, Mary Star of the Sea will take on Notre Dame at 3:15 p.m. on Friday. The Titans will roll in looking for their 12th straight win, something the Stars surely won't give up without a fight. Channel Islands does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
