Basketball Game Preview: Southridge Suns vs. Richland Bombers

Southridge hasn't had much luck against Richland recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Southridge Suns will take on the Richland Bombers at 7:30 p.m.

Southridge is headed into Friday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Friday. They were dealt a 76-49 loss at the hands of Kennewick. The Suns were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 46-24.

Meanwhile, Richland put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Kennewick, sneaking past 58-55. Given the Bombers' advantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked third, while the Lions are ranked 58th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Richland pushed their record up to 14-0 with the win, which was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 79.4 points per game. As for Southridge, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-10.

Southridge was taken down by Richland 90-45 when the teams last played back in December of 2024. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Southridge was down 51-19.
