Basketball Recap: Metamora Comes Up Short

Metamora lost against Canton back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Metamora Redbirds fell 48-37 to the Canton Little Giants. The Redbirds have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Canton's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ella Demler, who posted 18 points. Another player making a difference was Allison Wheeler, who almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine boards.

Metamora's defeat dropped their record down to 14-12. As for Canton, they now have a winning record of 14-13.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Metamora will face off against Pekin at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Canton, they will take on Dunlap at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday. Dunlap will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Canton surely won't give up without a fight.
