Baseball Recap: Atherton Find Success

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Eastern, Atherton was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Butler Bears, sneaking past 4-2. This was payback for the Ravens, who suffered a 6-3 loss the last time these two teams met.

The team relied heavily on Mason Howell, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Caleb Johnson also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Atherton was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .387. The last time their batting average was this high was back in March.

With the win, Atherton broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 10-11-1. As for Butler, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 13-18.

Atherton does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Butler, they will square off against Fern Creek at 8:00 p.m. on Monday.
