Recap: Emery Spartans vs. Carbon Dinos
The Emery Spartans can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They strolled past Carbon with points to spare, taking the game 58-39. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Emery also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2023.
Emery had a senior duo take command as Zack Tuttle scored 12 points along with five assists and five rebounds and Luke Justice scored 20 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Justice has scored at least a third of Emery's points. Another player making a difference was Wade Stilson, who scored six points along with ten rebounds and five steals.
When it comes to explaining why Carbon lost, one person who can't be blamed is Kahner Raby. Despite the final result, he scored nine points along with 11 rebounds.
Emery's victory bumped their record up to 11-4. As for Carbon, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Emery will stay at home for another game and welcome North Sanpete at 7:00 p.m. on January 17th. North Sanpete is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for Carbon, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Canyon View at 7:00 p.m. Canyon View presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Carbon in Utah (Canyon View is ranked 25th, while Carbon is ranked 99th).
