Basketball Recap: Saginaw Takes a Loss

Saginaw lost against Fossil Ridge back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Saginaw Rough Riders took a blow against the Fossil Ridge Panthers, falling 70-41. While losing is never fun, the Rough Riders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 643rd, while the Panthers are ranked 78th).

Despite the loss, Saginaw saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Jazmine Duncan dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 boards. Anissa Erickson was another key player, putting up six points.

Saginaw has traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last ten contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 13-18 record this season. As for Fossil Ridge, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 22-8.

As of now, neither Saginaw nor Fossil Ridge have any future games scheduled.
