Soccer Game Preview: Manzano vs. Eldorado

Manzano is 0-9-1 against Eldorado since September of 2015 but things could change on Saturday. The Monarchs will challenge the Golden Eagles at 12:00 p.m. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Manzano's offense. They lost 9-0 to La Cueva on Wednesday. While losing is never fun, Manzano can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Mexico soccer rankings (they are ranked 37th, while La Cueva are ranked first).

Meanwhile, for the first time since back in August, Eldorado was forced to settle for a draw on Wednesday. They and Capital finished up on equal footing with a 0-0 draw.

Manzano's defeat dropped their record down to 6-8. Eldorado's draw makes their record 8-5-2 this season.

Manzano might still be hurting after the 5-0 loss they got from Eldorado when the teams last played back in September. Can the Monarchs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
