Baseball Recap: Leo Lions vs. Huntington North Vikings
Leo suffered their biggest loss since April 30th on Saturday. They came up short against the Huntington North Vikings, falling 16-9. The Lions were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Vikings earlier this season, when they won 10-7.
Leo got a big performance out of Luke MacDonald, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with three runs. Another player making a difference was Ethan Wudy, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one run and one RBI.
Leo's defeat dropped their record down to 20-5. As for Huntington North, their victory bumped their record up to 16-9.
The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Leo will square off against Garrett at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Railroaders have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 6.91 runs per game on average), something the Lions will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Huntington North, they will venture away from home to take on Homestead at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
