Baseball Game Preview: Brunswick Dragons vs. Hampden Broncos

The Brunswick Dragons will hit the road for the first time this season to take on the Hampden Broncos at 11:00 a.m. on Friday. Hampden took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Brunswick, who comes in off a win.

Brunswick is headed out to face Hampden after opening their season at home and giving their fans just what they were looking for. The Dragons narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Oxford Hills 1-0.

Brunswick secured the win behind a pair of hitters. One of them was Henry Blood, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases.

Meanwhile, Hampden had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They took a 4-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Mt. Ararat on Tuesday.

Gavin Monyok made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run. Andrew Cote was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base.

Brunswick couldn't quite get it done against Hampden in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 as they fell 7-2. Can the Dragons avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
