Dixon hadn't done well against Oregon recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Dukes & Duchesses skirted past the Hawks 5-4. This was a revenge game for the Dukes & Duchesses: when they faced off against the Hawks back in April, they had to take a 6-1 loss.

Allie Abell made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing seven innings while giving up four earned runs off ten hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs.

In other batting news, Bailey Tegeler was excellent, going 3-for-4 with one triple and one run. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Breanna Tegeler, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one run.

Dixon now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Oregon, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 18-8.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Dixon is set to challenge their familiar foe Rock Falls at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Oregon will face off against rival North Boone at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
