Softball Recap: Eastside Comes Up Short

Eastside was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 14-2 to the Wade Hampton Generals. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Eagles of the 18-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Eastside saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Julia Rollins, who went 2-for-3 with one triple and one RBI.

Eastside's loss dropped their record down to 0-3-1. As for Wade Hampton, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-1.

Coming up, Eastside will face off against Spartanburg at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Eastside has given up an average of 19.5 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week. As for Wade Hampton, they will welcome James F. Byrnes at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The match will give James F. Byrnes their first taste of in-conferenceaction this season.
