Volleyball Recap: Eastlake Comes Up Short

Eastlake was the 3-1 winner over Mount Si when they last played one another back in October of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Wolves fell 3-1 to the Wildcats on Thursday. Wolves fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Wildcats since Thursday.

Sasha Pound paced Eastlake's offense, picking up 17 kills. Pound got some help from Kyra Kanai and her 19 assists. Cassidy Hunthausen and Kate Wetzel kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with three aces apiece.

Mount Si can attribute much of their success to Miley Smith, who had six digs and two aces. What's more, Smith racked up 23 assists, the most she's had over her last eight contests. Sadie Nunan also deserves some recognition as she had her first kills of the season.

Eastlake's loss dropped their record down to 9-15-1. As for Mount Si, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season.

As of now, neither Eastlake nor Mount Si have any future games scheduled.
