Flat Rock lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Riverview, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Monday's match. The Rams blew past the Pirates 9-1 on Monday. The Rams might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three games by eight runs or more this season.

Mikey Giroux tossed a big game, striking out 13 batters over 5.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Brendan Smouthers was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-2. Another player making a difference was Jordan Godfrey, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Flat Rock was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .393. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Flat Rock's victory bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Riverview, their defeat was their seventh straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 0-8.
