Football Recap: Edna Cowboys vs. Refugio Bobcats
Edna played a tough match on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 48-21 loss at the hands of the Refugio Bobcats. While losing is never fun, the Cowboys can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 268th, while the Bobcats are ranked 120th).
Leading Refugio to victory were Ray Lewis and Zander Wills. Lewis rushed for 135 yards and three TDs, while Wills rushed for 72 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only five carries. Wills was even better on defense, picking up two sacks and making 18 total tackles (8.0 for loss).
This is the second loss in a row for Edna and nudges their season record down to 1-2. As for Refugio, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.
