Baseball Recap: Seffner Christian Triumphs

On Thursday, the Seffner Christian Crusaders earned a 9-4 win over the Sports Leadership & Management Spartans. That's two games straight that the Crusaders have won by exactly five runs.

Seffner Christian got a great performance from Alejandro Hamana as he pitched five innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Kris Colondres, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. He also put up a stolen base, which was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Brayden Nanns, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

The victory got Seffner Christian back to even at 2-2. As for Sports Leadership & Management, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Seffner Christian will head out to face off against IMG Academy Silver at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Sports Leadership & Management, they will challenge IMG Academy Royal at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. IMG Academy Royal's pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so Sports Leadership & Management's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
