Homewood faced Northridge in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Patriots' defense stepped up to hand the Jaguars a 3-0 shutout. Considering Homewood have won 16 matchups by more than two goals this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

The win (which was Homewood's sixth in a row) raised their record to 20-2. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those six games. As for Northridge, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-3-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Homewood will welcome Oak Mountain at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Northridge, they will host Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
