Baseball Recap: Patriot Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Patriot, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They walked away with an 8-3 victory over the Jurupa Valley Jaguars on Thursday. This was a revenge game for the Warriors: when they faced off against the Jaguars on Tuesday, they had to take a 4-2 loss.

Isaac Martinez made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched 6.1 innings while giving up three earned runs off seven hits. Martinez was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI. Patriot is undefeated when Martinez posts two or more runs, but 10-12 otherwise.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Noah Leon, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI, two doubles, and one run. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Dustin Thayer, who went 1-for-4 with three runs and one stolen base.

Patriot now has a winning record of 13-12. As for Jurupa Valley, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 14-10-1.
