Preview: Rock Canyon Jaguars vs. Regis Jesuit Raiders
Rock Canyon has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will challenge the Regis Jesuit Raiders at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Rock Canyon posted their biggest win yet this season on Tuesday. They really took it to Douglas County for the full four quarters, racking up a 60-19 win at home. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 35-8.
Brooke Harding continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 24 points along with six rebounds and five steals. She hasn't dropped below two steals for 12 straight games. Another player making a difference was Alyssa Goode, who scored ten points along with five assists and five steals.
Meanwhile, Regis Jesuit scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They took their match on the road with ease, bagging a 85-31 win over Ponderosa. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Regis Jesuit has posted against Ponderosa since February 9, 2018.
Rock Canyon pushed their record up to 13-1 with that win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.0 points per game. As for Regis Jesuit, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season.
Rock Canyon might still be hurting after the 64-39 defeat they got from Regis Jesuit in their previous matchup back in January of 2023. Can Rock Canyon avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
