Parkway West had won two straight games and Macyn Tarter did her part to make it three on Friday. The Longhorns put the hurt on the Howell Vikings with a sharp 3-0 win for which the team can thank Tarter, who had 12 digs and five assists. She has been hot, having posted 12 or more digs the last five times she's played.
While Parkway West won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 27-25, 25-21.
Despite the defeat, Howell saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Grace Seaman had three digs and two aces.
Parkway West's victory bumped their record up to 10-2-1. As for Howell, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-12.
Looking ahead, Parkway West will head out to take on Oakville at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Howell, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-1 loss against Eureka on the 20th.
