Berkeley won the last time they faced Stratford and things went their way on Monday too. Everything went the Berkeley Stags' way against the Stratford Knights as the Berkeley Stags made off with a 63-39 win. Given the Stags' advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 29th, while the Knights are ranked 150th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Stratford's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Zanquel Baldwin, who posted 17 points. Herman Smith was another key player, putting up eight points and three steals.

Berkeley is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record this season. As for Stratford, they dropped their record down to 7-13 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home.

Looking ahead, Berkeley will host Cane Bay at 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Cane Bay will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Berkeley surely won't give up without a fight. As for Stratford, they will head out on the road to challenge Goose Creek at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Stratford is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.1 points per game this season.
