Softball Recap: Bolivar Central Has No Trouble Against Middleton

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Milan, Bolivar Central was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 23-6 margin over Middleton. That 17 run margin sets a new team best for Bolivar Central this season.

Bolivar Central let Marissa Overton and Addyson Smith run wild. Overton went 5-for-6 with seven RBI, two runs, and two doubles, while Smith went 3-for-4 with six RBI, two triples, and two runs. Those seven RBI gave Overton a new career-high. Aubrey Wells was another key player, going 3-for-5 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Bolivar Central kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 25 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Bolivar Central's win bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Middleton, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6.

Bolivar Central didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 7-0 victory against Bolton on the 17th. As for Middleton, they will be playing at home against Halls at 12:00 p.m. on Friday.
