Basketball Recap: Carroll Christian Takes a Loss

Carroll Christian lost against Springdale Prep back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Carroll Christian had to suffer through a 70-43 loss at the hands of the Springdale Prep Lions.

Joelle Mathews and Joanna Mathews certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Joelle dropped a double-double on 18 points and 14 boards, while Joanna posted 18 points along with six rebounds and three steals. That was a full 41.9% of Carroll Christian's points, marking the 14th time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.

Carroll Christian's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 9-6. As for Springdale Prep, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 19-17.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Carroll Christian will square off against Harford Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Springdale Prep, they will face off against Mercersburg Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
