Soccer Recap: Sumrall Takes a Loss

It was a proper cat-fight when Sumrall challenged Northwest Rankin on Friday. The Sumrall Bobcats came up short against the Northwest Rankin Cougars, falling 4-0. While getting shut out isn't ideal, the Bobcats haven't been shut out since back in December of 2024.

Sumrall's defeat dropped their record down to 10-5-1. As for Northwest Rankin, the victory was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 17-2-1.

Sumrall has already played their next contest (against Biloxi), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Northwest Rankin will take on Brandon at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Northwest Rankin has won six straight at home, while Brandon won three straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
