Basketball Recap: Faustina Academy Comes Up Short

If Faustina Academy was feeling good fresh off their 72-52 takedown of Dallas Academy on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Falcons had to suffer through a 67-31 loss at the hands of the Lakeland Christian Academy Lions. The contest marked the Falcons' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Lakeland Christian Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Caleb Castaneda led the charge by dropping a double-double with 17 points and 11 assists. Those 11 assists gave Castaneda a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Silas Myers, who dropped a double-double with 18 points and 11 boards.

Faustina Academy now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Lakeland Christian Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season.

Faustina Academy will host Trinity Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lakeland Christian Academy, they will venture away from home to face off against Dallas Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Lions are facing the Bulldogs at the right time seeing as the Bulldogs are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
