Volleyball Recap: West Branch Warriors vs. Salem Quakers

While West Branch's victory against Salem wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Warriors had just enough and edged out the Quakers 3-2 on Tuesday. That's more bragging rights for the Warriors, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day West Branch got the one that really mattered. The final score came out to 25-22, 21-25, 25-14, 23-25, 15-8.

West Branch found their leader in freshman Aislyn Ring, who had 25 assists and nine digs. Those 25 assists set a new season-high mark for Ring. Sydney Lane also deserves some recognition as she had her first kill of the season.

West Branch was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 16 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least eight aces in six consecutive matches.

Angeline Hoffaker and Alivia Ruth certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Hoffaker had nine digs and three aces, while Ruth had nine digs.
