Preview: Central Bobcats vs. Metro Tech Knights
Central has been on the road for four straight, but on Wednesday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Metro Tech Knights at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Central focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Monday.
Last Monday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Central beat North Canyon 46-40. The victory was just what Central needed coming off of a 65-39 defeat in their prior matchup.
Lia Sims was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 30 points and 11 rebounds. That makes it 21 consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Central's points. Another player making a difference was Amber Shorten, who scored ten points.
Meanwhile, Metro Tech's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their 11th straight loss. They were dealt a 87-17 loss at the hands of McClintock. Metro Tech has not had much luck with McClintock recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Central's win bumped their record up to 8-13. As for Metro Tech, they dropped their record down to 5-12 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight at home.
Central strolled past Metro Tech in their previous meeting back in December of 2023 by a score of 58-39. Does Central have another victory up their sleeve, or will Metro Tech turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
