Baseball Recap: Lexington Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Lauderdale County, Lexington was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They came out on top against the Colbert Heights Wildcats by a score of 6-3. This was a revenge game for the Golden Bears: when they faced off against the Wildcats back in February, they had to take a 6-1 loss.

Jacob Nava spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned runs on eight hits.

On the hitting side, Jake Lard was incredible, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (two). Another player making a difference was Parker Cole, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI.

With the victory, Lexington broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-7. As for Colbert Heights, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-7.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Colbert Heights beat Lexington by a score of 12-7 later that day.
