Baseball Game Preview: Vardaman Rams vs. Eupora Eagles

The Vardaman Rams will take on the Eupora Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Vardaman came up short against West Union on Friday, falling 9-1. The loss continues a trend for the Rams in their meetings with the Eagles: they've now lost three in a row.

Brady White was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He struck out six batters over three innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits (and not a single walk). He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Vardaman is 2-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 1-3 otherwise. White was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one home run. He also put up an RBI, which was his first of the season.

Meanwhile, Eupora got the win against Northeast Lauderdale on Saturday by a conclusive 12-2. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won five games by seven runs or more so far this season.

Vardaman now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Eupora, their win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-6.

Vardaman skirted past Eupora 9-7 in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Does Vardaman have another victory up their sleeve, or will Eupora turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
