Laney and Burke County are an even 3-3 against one another since December of 2018, but not for long. The Laney Wildcats will challenge the Burke County Bears at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Laney can't be too worried about heading out to take on Burke County: they just beat Burke County at home, who had been dominant on their own court up to that point. Laney walked away with a 70-58 victory over Burke County on Friday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Wildcats.

Laney will have to keep a close watch on La'Quinton Morgan and De'Quayvian Lovette, a pair of players who had a big impact on Burke County's prior game. Morgan went 6-for-13 en route to 16 points and seven assists, while Lovette posted 16 points. Lovette's evening made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Jayden Lambert, who put up eight points in addition to five rebounds and three blocks.

Laney pushed their record up to 18-6 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.5 points over those games. As for Burke County, their victory bumped their record up to 15-5.
