Soccer Game Preview: Alief Hastings vs. George Ranch

The Alief Hastings Bears will head out to face off against the George Ranch Longhorns at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Alief Hastings' offense. They lost 5-0 to Strake Jesuit on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Bears can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 403rd, while the Fighting Crusaders are ranked 25th).

Meanwhile, George Ranch was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They came up short against Alief Taylor, falling 5-1. That's two games in a row now that the Longhorns have lost by exactly four goals.

This is the second loss in a row for Alief Hastings and nudges their season record down to 6-11. As for George Ranch, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-16.

Everything went Alief Hastings' way against George Ranch in their previous meeting back in February, as Alief Hastings made off with a 4-1 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Alief Hastings since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
