Basketball Game Preview: Rockford Christian Royal Lions vs. Lutheran Crusaders

Rockford Christian and Lutheran are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2021, but not for long. The Rockford Christian Royal Lions will challenge the Lutheran Crusaders at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Last Saturday, Rockford Christian came up short against Riverdale and fell 80-70.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Lutheran, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They walked away with a 66-54 victory over Winnebago on Tuesday.

Lutheran pushed their record up to 10-11 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.2 points per game. As for Rockford Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 18-2.

Rockford Christian was able to grind out a solid victory over Lutheran when the teams last played on January 13th, winning 87-78. The rematch might be a little tougher for Rockford Christian since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
