Basketball Game Preview: River Valley Blackhawks vs. Cambridge Bluejays

The River Valley Blackhawks will take on the Cambridge Bluejays in a holiday battle at at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. River Valley knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five matches -- so hopefully Cambridge likes a good challenge.

While River Valley didn't have the best season last year (they finished 12-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They skirted past Lancaster 67-64. The Blackhawks' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Meanwhile, Cambridge posted their biggest victory since January 18th on Friday. Everything went their way against Poynette as Cambridge made off with a 104-78 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bluejays.

Cambridge pushed their record up to 3-1 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 86.7 points per game. As for River Valley, their win bumped their record up to 4-1.

River Valley came up short against Cambridge in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, falling 51-38. Can River Valley avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
