Softball Recap: Edinburg North Has No Trouble Against Edinburg

The matchup between Edinburg North and Edinburg on Tuesday hardly resembled the 4-0 effort from their previous meeting. The Cougars blew past the Bobcats 18-1. Considering the Cougars have won 14 matches by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Destany Bermudez made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Bermudez was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Kyla Rodriguez was incredible, scoring three runs while going 4-for-4. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Caylee Ramirez, who scored three runs while going 2-for-4.

Edinburg North always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .647. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Edinburg only posted an OBP of .294.

Edinburg North's victory bumped their record up to 22-8-1. As for Edinburg, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-10.

Looking ahead, Edinburg North will be playing in front of their home fans against Zapata at 1:00 p.m. on Monday. Edinburg does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
