Volleyball Recap: Pecos Takes a Loss

Pecos was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Clayton Yellowjackets. The Panthers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Yellowjackets earlier this season, when they won 3-2.

Pecos took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The final score came out to 25-20, 14-25, 20-25, 25-12, 15-11.

Pecos' loss dropped their record down to 7-14. As for Clayton, their win bumped their record up to 9-12.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Pecos is set to face off against their familiar foe Santa Rosa at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Clayton will take on rival Tucumcari at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
