Softball Game Preview: Westview Chargers vs. Ripley Tigers

The Westview Chargers will challenge the Ripley Tigers at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Last Tuesday, Westview came up short against South Gibson and fell 8-3. The Chargers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Lakyn Rogers was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and one triple. She is on a roll when it comes to hits, as she's now got three or more in each of the last three games she's played. Alexis Evans was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Meanwhile, it may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Ripley ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 10-9 win over Gibson County. The victory was some much needed relief for the Tigers as it spelled an end to their seven-game losing streak.

Westview's defeat dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Ripley, their win bumped their record up to 7-8-1.

Westview skirted past Ripley 5-4 in their previous matchup on Thursday. Will the Chargers repeat their success, or do the Tigers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
