Baseball Game Preview: Waller Bulldogs vs. Langham Creek Lobos

For the second straight game, Waller will face off against Langham Creek. The Bulldogs will welcome the Lobos at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Waller has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the contest with six straight defeats, while Langham Creek will come in with five straight wins.

Waller fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Langham Creek on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Lobos by a score of 2-1.

For Langham Creek's part, Adam McNew spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on two hits and racked up six Ks. McNew also tossed a walk, which is notable because the Lobos are 3-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 7-13 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Caden Thomas was incredible, scoring a run and stealing three bases while going 2-for-3. Langham Creek is 3-1 when Thomas posts two or more stolen bases, but 7-13 otherwise.

Langham Creek pushed their record up to 10-14 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.0 runs over those games. As for Waller, their loss dropped their record down to 6-16-1.
