Basketball Recap: Rumson-Fair Haven Triumphs

Rumson-Fair Haven won the last time they faced Neptune and things went their way on Saturday too. The Rumson-Fair Haven Bulldogs snuck past the Neptune Scarlet Fliers with a 49-43 win.

Neptune's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Bre Evans, who went 5 of 12 en route to 19 points and four steals. Evans has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last six times she's played. Another player making a difference was Christa Ramos, who posted 15 points and five rebounds.

The victory got Rumson-Fair Haven back to even at 5-5. As for Neptune, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rumson-Fair Haven will head out to square off against Holmdel at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Neptune, they will venture away from home to face off against Manasquan at 5:15 p.m. on Monday.
